UNICEF has some internship programmes every year for students who are looking for a unique opportunity to acquire direct practical experience in UNICEF's work and the United Nations system under the direct supervision of experienced UNICEF staff.

Internships are offered depending on the availability of meaningful assignments and the needs and capacity of units/offices to receive and supervise interns. The duration of this internship is normally between six and sixteen weeks. The total duration may be extended up to a maximum of six months, when there are special requirements and / or special needs of the receiving division / office.

The areas of work under this internship will be in any one of the active functional areas of UNICEF or related to its mandate, which can be categorized in three main pillars: Programme, External Relations and Operations.

This internship is open for all students who have completed their secondary schooling and intermediate stage of education. Researchers, graduate and postgraduate students, and IB students in 11th and 12th standard can apply. The applicants should be proficient in at least one of UNICEF's working languages like English, French or Spanish 

The internship usually happens in US, but even international students can apply for this programme and the best part? A work permit is not required. It is a 4- 6months internship with travel and living allowances reimbursed.
