Adobe- be it Adobe PDF reader, or Adobe Photoshop for editing and designing purposes, this software product has become an integral part of everybody's lives. 

Adobe not believes in serving its customer base with what is needed, but also strongly believes in nurturing innovation and encouraging young talent, especially women. Keeping this theme in mind, Adobe is inviting applications for their scholarship program called the 'Women-in-technology scholarship'.

The main aim of this scholarship program is to encourage, motivate and recognize women students who are performing outstandingly in the field of technology. It is an India wide scholarship program that will get the winners an Adobe collaboration and mentoring for BTP. Apart from this the winner will-  

  • Get $10,000 award paid once
  • A Creative Cloud subscription membership for one year
  • An Adobe Research mentor
  • Get an internship at Adobe in 2017
  • Be eligible to get their rest of their B.Tech fee paid by Adobe (including 1 or 2 years travel)
  • Get to be a part of Grace Hopper conference {If any paper (Based on Internship/BTP collaboration) gets accepted in a conference (approved by Adobe), the winner will get sponsored to travel to that conference for one author}

Are you eligible?

Yes, If you fulfill the below criteria. 

  • A female student currently enrolled in college for the 2016-2017 academic year
  • Intend to be enrolled as a full-time student in college for the 2017-2018 academic year for further studies/masters
  • Be majoring in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field

What should my application include:

  • SoP
  • Your resume
  • Academic transcripts from your current and/or past institution
  • One Reference from a Professor (request letters from your references via email)
  • Answer the 4 essay questions which be available once Adobe starts accepting applications
  • An optional 60-second video or multimedia submission describing your dream career

In the request letter, ensure that your professor clearly answer the following two questions:

  • How long have you known the applicant and how did you meet him/her?
  • Can you rank the applicant as belonging to the top 5, 10 or 20% of students you have seen?

In your SoP, cover the following three parts: 

Part1: Self introduction and goals

Part2: Speak about your undergraduate works including – 

Projects that you have worked on, Indicate with whom, the title of the project, what your responsibilities were, and the outcome. Write technically, or in the style of your discipline

Important paper or thesis project you completed, as well as anything scholarly beyond your curricular requirements

Work experience, especially if you had any kind of responsibility for testing, designing, researching or interning

Part3: Talk about your interests

Indicate the area of your interests. Ideally, pose a question, define a problem, or indicate a theme that you would like to address, and questions that arise from contemporary work

End your statement in a positive manner, indicating your excitement and readiness for the challenges ahead of you
